The Transport Unit is responsible for the transportations of all juvenile offenders from secure confinement usually out of county to family court hearings in Laurens County. The transport officer will usually remain with the juvenile until returned to the confinement facility.
The Transport Unit is also directed to provide transportation for all involuntary commitments to mental health facilities across the state if the individual resides in Laurens County. Often, these transports are required after normal business hours. In addition, the Transport Unit may be called upon to provide transportation for adult inmates and other individuals as requested by law enforcement personnel. |
