Grant Notice: The Laurens County Sheriff's Office is applying for the FY 2015 Local Solicitation Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (42 U.S.C. 3751 (a)) is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. JAG funds support all components of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, prosecution and court programs, prevention and education programs, corrections and community corrections, drug treatment and enforcement, crime victim and witness initiatives, and planning, evaluation, and technology improvement programs.
JAG funds may be used for state and local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, and operating. Additionally, funds may be used for equipment, overtime, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice.
