The Judicial Division is responsible for a variety of services within the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. Most of which are closely related to the Judiciary process and are assigned to various sections within the Judicial division.
The Child Support / Family Court Unit is responsible for the service of rules to show cause, protection orders, subpoenas, other family court process and the execution of warrants associated with failure to pay child support. Read more on the Child Support / Family Court Unit. The Court Security Unit provides security for judges, all courthouse staff and visitors to the judicial center. Non-sworn bailiffs are also utilized in the courtrooms. Read more on the Court Security Unit. The Transport Unit is responsible for transporting inmates from other jurisdictions (including other states). The Transport Unit is also responsible for juvenile offender and mental health transports. Read more on the Transport Unit. The Criminal Warrants Unit is responsible for locating and arresting persons for whom arrest warrants have been issued. In addition, this unit coordinates with jurisdictions in other counties and states to arrange for the return of persons wanted in Laurens County who have been arrested in jurisdictions outside of Laurens County.
