The Laurens Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Unit has the responsibility of registering and monitoring over 160 sexual offenders and predators that reside in Laurens County.The unit conducts address verifications at the home of each sexual offender/predator at least once per year. Sexual offenders and predators are required to register either two or four times per year based on their offense which allows the unit to see them several times every year. Any violations or complaints received by the sheriff’s office are investigated by the unit. The unit also handles any criminal investigations regarding registration.
The Laurens County Sheriff's Office use a Sex Offender Notification program called OffenderWatch. I encourage you to sign up for OffenderWatch. The registry will allow you to enter any local address and will then provide you a list of all registered Laurens County sex offenders living within a one-mile radius of the address within the boundaries of Laurens County . If you are looking for information about a particular sex offender, registered in Laurens County , the registry can help there as well. I encourage you to take advantage of this free email notification. You may use our email notification system to register multiple addresses such as your baby sitters home, day care facility, church, school, office or homes your children visit frequently so that those places are also automatically monitored. When a sex offender registers with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office you will be alerted if the offender's address is in LaurensCounty and within one mile of the addresss you have entered on your subscription. Some of these links also provide you with the ability to register and receive e-mail alerts for your neighborhood or a specific address.
