Wattsville Community Block Party and Litter Pick Up This Saturday.
Make your plans to be in Wattsville this Saturday, June 8th for a great day of fun, fellowship and cleaning with free food, entertainment and something for everyone.
Things kick off Saturday morning at 9 a.m. when volunteers are asked to meet in the parking lot of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church to pick up trash bags and other accessories to go through neighborhoods and streets picking up litter. Everyone, regardless of where you live, is asked to come and help with the trash pick-up for a few hours if possible. Laurens County Public Works will have trash containers behind the Wattsville fire station to deposit the trash collected.
Later that afternoon, the party begins! You are cordially invited to attend the community wide block party. There will be free food, free entertainment and free fellowship. Come on out to meet your neighbors and say hello. Things kick off at 5 p.m. On the schedule to entertain you is WSPA’s own Jack Roper, Laurens County’s favorite daughters, Morning Star, the fabulous sounds of Loose Stones and much more. In addition to this, there will be inflatables on site for the kids’ enjoyment. Free food will be served so come hungry. That’s not all! There will be an outside movie shown on the ball field behind Lucas Avenue Baptist Church that is scheduled to start approximately 8:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, bring your family and bring your friends as we celebrate a new beginning for Wattsville and Laurens County.
All of the afternoon festivities will take place in and around the corner of Ranch Road and Lucas Avenue. If it rains don’t worry; everything will be moved into the Life Center Building of St James United Methodist Church.
A big thanks to everyone who played a part in bringing all of this together.
We hope to see you there this Saturday!!
